We have successfully completed a pilot project for monitoring heavy vehicle traffic in Australia, where we deployed an advanced B-WIM solution for real-time bridge load measurement in collaboration with our client, Victoria Department of Transport and Planning Australia.

The project provided detailed insights into how infrastructure is actually used on a day-to-day basis and demonstrated the value of data-driven decision-making in managing transport networks more efficiently and sustainably.

In two weeks, Fukuoka, Japan, will host the second International Conference of Weighing. The conference is aimed at weighing industry in general; from the detection of gravitational waves and not-yet-discovered subatomic particles to the weighing of heavy vehicles.

Cestel’s Matija Mavrič will present our experience in becoming the world’s first OIML-certified bridge WIM producer and our view on the direction of the development of the weigh-in-motion industry.

International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) is organizing a conference in Copenhagen, which will take place between 21 and 24 April 2026. The theme of the conference is Bridging Advanced Technologies – Structural Innovation.

Two years have passed by in the blink of an eye—Intertraffic Amsterdam is almost here again! The most important event for the ITS sector will take place between March 10 and 13 and this year, it will host over 900 exhibitors.

• Our bridge WIM system coupled with SHM sensors has come a long way since the last Intertraffic.
• We developed an AI module, which significantly enhances the output of cameras.

Riyadh will host the Saudi Intermobility Expo, which will take place between 1 and 3 December. The main focus of the expo, where more than 60 exhibitors from across the world will gather, will be road and rail infrastructure, ITS, and traffic safety. You may find us at stand H100!

On 3 December from 13:00 to 15:00, Saudi Intermobility Expo will also host an ISWIM workshop dedicated to the use of weigh-in-motion systems for direct enforcement. We will present the use of bridge WIM technology in weight enforcement and our experience in working with law enforcement agencies across the world.

We have received the OIML R134 certificate, which confirms the compliance of our Weighing in Motion (WIM) systems with the highest international metrology standards. The certificate confirms that our WIM systems achieve accuracy class 10F in accordance with the requirements of the OIML R134 recommendation. This means that our results are precise, repeatable and internationally comparable, which is an important confirmation of the quality and reliability of our measurements.

By obtaining this certificate, we demonstrate that our development, calibration and verification procedures meet the most stringent technical and metrological requirements. The certificate is the result of many years of development, testing and cooperation with international experts in the field of weighing in traffic. It represents an important milestone in confirming the technical excellence of our solutions and further ensures user confidence in the quality of our systems.

Between 13 and 14 November, the annual Conference of the Slovenian Association of Structural Engineers will take place in Portorož, Slovenia.

The two-day conference will include many intriguing keynote lectures:

The Slovenian Association of Structural Engineers is an organization that promotes the sharing of knowledge among experts in the field of structural engineering, while its members also cooperate in the preparation of technical standards. This will be the 46th edition of the conference.

It’s less than one week to Gitex Global, one of the largest global tech exhibitions held annually in Dubai. Cestel will be a part of the Slovenian exhibition pavilion organized by SPIRIT Slovenia (booth H1-B60 in Hall 1).

Three PhD positions are still available as part of the project Bridgitise, whose aim it is to develop effective bridge management methods for aging and deteriorating bridges. Cestel is participating in the Bridgitise project together with the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute; our topic of research is the use of vision-based data and machine learning in improving bridge weigh-in-motion technology (position DC4).

From 1 to 5 September, the International Society for Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure (ISHMII) conference will take place in Graz, Austria.

The event is centered on structural health monitoring of bridges, water dams, tunnels, retaining walls, roads, and other civil infrastructure. We will be presenting our structural health monitoring system based on the pairing of data between bridge weigh-in-motion and SHM sensors.
